Stop beating yourself up. Be more grateful for what you have achieved so far, instead of what you have not. If you look at your life without a critical eye, you will realise that you have achieved a lot.
As they say: life is not a smooth path, anything can happen at a drop of a hat, but it is important how you react to it. You could bury your head in the sand when things go wrong, and let life control you, or you could take the steer in your hands, and be the captain of the ship.
You need to realise that you cannot and will not control everything. The best thing you can do is to control whatever you can: read and investigate any deal before you sign the agreement, do your due diligence, get more skills under your belt to increase your income, read and listen to widen your horizons, and gracefully accept what you cannot change.
My life, at least as far as I was concerned, was always planned. I did everything by the book, and I thought I was destined for excellence. Perhaps I was a bit naive and arrogant in my thinking that nothing could go wrong. But things went wrong for me when I least expected them. Within a short period of time, I was struggling to get up from bed and perform the simplest tasks. From a healthy person I used to be, I changed into a disabled one with a long-term, permanent disability.
From my perspective, I can say now: treasure every day, and always do your best. Whatever you plan to do, at least try, give it your best shot, and don’t forget to dream.
